Can you please post what kind of camera you have? I found you via Livey's blog. Thanks!

leslie, you bet. I'll be putting up a little post about the new camera shortly. Meantime I can tell you its name: Casio Exilim EX-V7. That should give you enough info to google it, at least.

jean, wasn't that baby a wonder? And mama was just as fierce as a mama needs to be - especially when these vicious camera-toting tourists get too close to the little one.

I was afraid I was going to have to wrestle a mama dear!

Your new camera is performing for ya, k! Nice detail on the fawn's back-- and I love all those ferns. Makes me feel cool all over in this hot weather we are having.

Oh boy, this camera makes me grin all goofy, grin from ear to ear.

This fawn, poised there looking at us, is one of my fave pix of my own taking, of all my life. I'm just tickled pink.

If Livey hadn't seen the deer I'd never have gotten it, either.

miss assassin, it's like it's calling to me all the time. I love the little thing. I wear it around my neck, same as I did with the previous one, but it's different. I loved its immediate predecessor too - but this? It feels like it's a part of me.

Jean, one thing it's doing is making me hanker after a decent photo-printer. Especially since they seem, to me, amazingly cheap for what they do.

But! First, Mr. Budget has to take a deep breath and catch up after the camera purchase.

granny j, I might not have gotten this when I did, if I hadn't seen how your new one performed. When you posted this perfect photo you'd taken out of the side window of a moving car, my world shifted.

See, I don't know how to *photoshop* them. It's a phobe thing, because I don't know how to make folders - not really a photo issue at all, but a computer one instead. So taking them just right, *as is,* matters to me more than it maybe should.

To me, keeping the camera perfectly still seemed the single most important factor in taking good pix. But too often, I'm sick and shaky. Keeping the camera still wasn't easy. That stablizer is heaven sent for people like me.

And those cool-looking woods? Boy oh boy, yes. Why folks do that snowbird thing, huh? ;-)

Nice photos. Jean's right about the framing.

Very nice photo... I had a mother and fawn right near the house this morning, but of course couldn't find the camera in time!

Thank you, snog dot! That means a lot coming from you. Thank you very much.

sue, that's exactly why I run
around looking like a dork, wearing that camera around my neck. And I STILL miss a whole lot of them.

The other day, the camera wasn't charged so I left it behind. I didn't even bring my spare emergency backup camera - the previous baby. OH, dumb dumb dumb.

What happened? There was the greatest huge turtle crossing the street, a snapper it looked like. I even stopped the car to move it to safety. And...no camera.

argh!

The ones that get away...
