Underneath all the cotton and tape and Ace bandage, they embedded a cast.
The plaster cast is actually glued on to the other material in places. It's all constructed together like a work of art.
I hated like hell to cut into this beautiful piece of medical sculpture.
But...
Poor Mr. Hand's just aawllll swole up. Gotta be done. So I did.

You know, I think there is a cat in there! I think a spiritual part of DC in his mama cat alter is curled up inside, purring and snoozing...and reaching out a sharp-clawed paw for a SWIPE should any nastiness like a germ threaten to approach.
No sign of infection. None.
so far so good.
